This necklace was designed so that the pearl is encapsulated in a woven basket thus eliminating the need to drill or glue the pearl as is normally the case with most pearl jewelry. The pearl is a 14-15mm naturally golden color South Sea pearl which many consider to be the Queen of Pearls. There is no doubt that South Sea pearls command the highest prices…and for good reason – they are spectacular. Additionally since Tahitian weavers seldom get their hands on South Sea pearls it is uncommon to find traditional Tahitian weaving done using South Sea pearls.
