This is a dramatic earring design. Each earring features seven Tahitian black keshi pearls set in a wonderful sterling silver design with a lot of movement. Keshi pearls are merely pearls that form in the oyster by accident secondary to a primary pearl. They are composed of 100% pearl nacre and therefore often possess striking luster and orient. The keshi pearls in these earrings measure approximately 4.5mm x 5.5mm.
This luxurious keshi necklace is made of 30 individual strands. Each tiny keshi pearl is meticulously threaded and then each of the 30 strands is carefully tied off each side of the clasp. It’s a labor-intensive process, but what a result; this keshi necklace can be worn as is or enhanced with a pendant or enhancer.
The spectacular Sunrise shell (Langford’s Pecten) is perhaps the most prized of all shells in the islands of Hawaii. Its dramatic, an often intense yellow color with red or orange highlights makes it unmistakable. People can comb the beaches of Kauai and Oahu for years and never be lucky enough to find one. Only those who get up when its still dark, just after a high surf, or those who dive are likely to find Sunrise shells at all and even then it is still a special find. Sunrise shells can sell for several hundred dollars each. The rare larger Sunrise shells like this one generally command the highest prices. The huge 35mm Sunrise shell on this 16” necklace is a true beauty perfectly sized for a choker-fit on the neck of a very lucky lady.
